Saudi Arabia strongly denounces deadly blast in Kabul mosque

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia has strongly denounced a blast inside a mosque on the outskirts of the Afghan capital Kabul. The blast, which took place in the Shakardara district on Friday, caused a number of deaths and injuries. In a statement on Sunday carried by the Saudi Press Agency, the Saudi foreign ministry reaffirmed the Kingdom"s solidarity and support Afghanistan in the face of violence, extremism and terrorism. The ministry in the statement affirming Saudi Arabia’s stance rejecting these criminal acts that are inconsistent with all religious principles and moral and human values. The ministry offered condolences and sympathy to the families of the dead and the government and people of Afghanistan while wishing the injured a speedy recovery. In another development, Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal Bin Farhan received a phone call from his Afghan counterpart, Muhammad Hanif Atamar, on Sunday. During the call, they reviewed the bilateral relations and the ways to develop them in various fields, in addition to discussing a number of regional issues, developments in Palestine and international situations.
