Coronavirus-hit family airlifted from India undergoing treatment at KFMC in Riyadh

RIYADH — A Saudi family that was recently airlifted from India after testing positive for coronavirus is undergoing treatment at King Fahd Medical City (KFMC) in Riyadh. The coronavirus-hit family was evacuated by the Air Medical Evacuation Department of Health Services at the Saudi Defense Ministry in line with directives from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman. According to the executive director-general of KFMC, Dr. Fahd Al-Ghufaili, a special medical team has been allocated for the family to ensure the safety of all members who are afflicted with the virus, and the team is providing them with all healthcare services around the clock. He added: “The medical team is alert and geared up to deal with the cases and carry out speedy interventions for all members of the family, as well as to implement all health measures and protocols for the safety of the afflicted cases and the medical team.” In addition, King Fahd Medical City (KFMC) said that the condition of the mother is critical due to very severe inflammation in the lungs. She has been admitted in an isolation room at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and is being monitored and attended to continuously. The follow-up medical reports indicate that her condition is stable. Meanwhile, the father and two boys have been transferred to special rooms for coronavirus cases. Their health condition is stable, KFMC added.
