RIYADH: The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance has reopened 21 mosques after temporarily shutting them down for cleaning after a number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases were confirmed among worshippers. Virus cases have led to 1,261 mosques being forced to temporarily close over the past 104 days, with the mosques being reopened in six different areas after sanitization measures were completed. The ministry noted in a report issued on Friday that seven mosques were reopened in Makkah, six in Riyadh, three in both Baha and Jazan, and a mosque each in Najran and Asir.
