Saudi Gazette report RIYADH — Saudi students, represented by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) have won 5 global awards and 3 special awards, outclassing their counterparts from a host of advanced industrial countries at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) 2021, which was virtually held in the United States recently. More than 1,800 students from around the world from 80 countries showcased their projects at the science fair. With 8 new awards, the Kingdom has raised its overall tally of awards won at the ISEF to 83, including 53 grand awards and 30 special awards since it began taking part in the ISEF in 2007. Commenting on the remarkable performance of the Saudi students at ISEF, Dr. Saud Bin Saeed Al-Mutahmi, the secretary-general of Mawhiba, said in an interview: “This victory would not have been achieved without the support that the King Abdulaziz Foundation and its students receive from our wise government headed by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and the Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman."
