The joint and mixed air exercise “Tuwaiq 2” was launched at the Prince Sultan Air Base in the Saudi city of Al-Kharj on Sunday, with the participation of a number of Arab countries, including Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan and Egypt. Bahrain and Kuwait are participating as observers in the two-week exercise, which aims to raise the levels of readiness and achieve compatibility and operational integration. The Saudi Ministry of Defense published a video and photos on its official account on Twitter on Sunday, showing part of the exercise, which it said aimed to increase the efficiency of the participating forces during military operations. The commander of the exercise, Lt. Col. Mohammad Sufian, noted that the military drills would be carried out in different stages, including the planning and implementation of many flights, in order to raise the operational and training readiness for tactical airdrops and boosting competition among the participants. Air forces participating in the exercise arrived on Friday at the Prince Sultan Air Base with all their air, technical and administrative crews.
