عقدت الهيئة السعودية للملكية الفكرية بالتعاون مع شركة جوجل ورشة عمل افتراضية بعنوان ” حماية وتعزيز حقوق الملكية الفكرية في المجال الرقمي ” بمشاركة عدد من ممثلي الجهتين، إذّ تهدف الورشة للتعرف على الأساليب والطرق الفنية المستخدمة في الانتهاكات الرقمية وآليات مكافحة قرصنة البث الرقمي وحماية حقوق الملكية الفكرية وتم خلال ورشة العمل استعراض طرق إزالة المحتوى المخالف من المنصات التابعة لشركة جوجل ومناقشة آلية حجب التطبيقات المنتهكة على متجر جوجل بلاي كما تم التعرف على الإجراءات المتبعة لحماية حقوق الملكية الفكرية في منصة اليوتيوب وكيفية تأثيرها واستعراض لجهود الهيئة في التوعية بالملكية الفكرية وإنفاذ حقوقها في المملكة. وذكر المدير التنفيذي لاحترام الملكية الفكرية الأستاذ ياسر الدباسي أن أهمية التعاون بين الجهتين سيساهم بشكل كبير في تعزيز إنفاذ وحماية حقوق الملكية الفكرية من خلال العمل المشترك كما قدم شكره لشركة جوجل على تعاونها في تحقيق أهداف الورشة. كما أكد على أهمية تعزيز التعاون بين القطاع العام والخاص من خلال نماذج شراكة فاعلة للتصدي لجميع أنواع الانتهاكات والحد من عمليات القرصنة والذي بدوره سيسهم في تحسين انفاذ وحماية حقوق الملكية الفكرية وتعزيز الأثر الاقتصادي للمملكة. يذكر أن الهيئة السعودية للملكية الفكرية تسعى لتعزيز الجهود مع القطاع الخاص مما يسهم في تعزيز حماية وإنفاذ حقوق الملكية الفكرية حيث أنه من المخطط عقد العديد من الاجتماعات التنسيقية وورش العمل مع مختلف الجهات ذات العلاقة مما سينتج توقيع العديد من مذكرات التفاهم والتعاون المشترك. انتهى اللغة الإنجليزية Intellectual property and Google meet to protect rights in the digital field The Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property, in cooperation with Google, held a virtual workshop entitled “Protecting and Strengthening Intellectual Property Rights in the Digital Field” with the participation of a number of representatives From both organizations organizations. The workshop aims to identify the technical methods used in digital violations and mechanisms to combat digital broadcast piracy and protect intellectual property rights. During the workshop, ways to remove infringing content from Google’s platforms were reviewed, and the mechanism of blocking violating applications on the Google Play store was discussed, as well as ways to protect intellectual property rights on the YouTube platform and how they affect intellectual property rights. Also, there was a review of the authority’s efforts to raise awareness of intellectual property and enforce its rights in the Kingdom. The Executive Director of Intellectual Property Respect, Mr. Yasser Al-Dabbasi, mentioned that the importance of the cooperation between the two organizations will greatly contribute to strengthening the enforcement and protection of intellectual property rights through joint work. He also thanked Google for its cooperation in achieving the objectives of the workshop. He also stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation between the public and private sectors through effective partnership models to address all types of violations and to fight piracy, which in turn would contribute on improving the enforcement and protection of intellectual property rights and enhancing the economic impact of the Kingdom. It is noteworthy that within the framework of the Kingdom’s efforts to protect intellectual property rights, the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property blocked more than 300 violating websites and electronic applications during the year 2021 AD, and more than three and a half million materials violating intellectual property rights were seized in cooperation and coordination with partners through campaigns Inspections held by the authority in various regions of the Kingdom, as this comes from its tasks and competencies, which confirm the application of penalties against intellectual property violators.    19
