RIYADH — The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), the charity arm of Saudi Arabia, has signed an agreement with the Al-Basar International Foundation to carry out medical campaigns in a number of countries to prevent blindness. As part of the agreement with the UK-based global charity, KSrelief seeks to target 150,000 beneficiaries, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Wednesday. The agreement was signed by KSrelief Assistant General Supervisor for Planning and Development Dr. Aqeel Bin Jamaan Al-Ghamdi and Secretary-General of the Al-Basar Foundation Dr. Adel bin Abdulaziz Al-Rashoud at the KSrelief headquarters in Riyadh. According to Dr. Aqeel Al-Ghamdi, the Saudi volunteers and doctors will hold 30 medical campaigns and perform nearly 12,000 surgeries in Yemen, Sudan, Pakistan, Nigeria and Bangladesh. He added that these medical campaigns come within the volunteer programs funded and implemented by the KSrelief in many needy countries in order to achieve one of the goals of the Kingdom Vision 2030.
