RIYADH — The International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) has commended the role of the Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants in the Middle and North African (MENA) region to enhance financial knowledge and develop careers associated with accounting and audit. In a recent report published on its website, IFAC also noted that the organization is willing to establish a new center to serve small and medium-sized professional enterprises (SMPs) and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the field of accounting and audit. The center is expected to provide an opportunity to exchange expertise and information, all necessary resources and innovative tools and professional services that can serve sustainability plans for targeted categories in Saudi Arabia and the MENA region to bolster the commercial business environment. In its report, the federation referred to the training programs and professional services that the organization offers to those who seek to develop their financial knowledge, while it supports future careers through providing opportunities to develop professional skills and capabilities that accord with and preserve social needs. Secretary-General of the Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants Ahmad bin Abdullah Al-Mghames said that the IFAC commendation of the role played by the organization reflects the level achieved by the accounting and audit profession in the Kingdom, and represents an appreciation for the role played by the organization to enhance relevant standards and regulations and accrediting it as the exclusive translator in the Arabic language for the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). IFAC has chosen the Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants as part of 16 professional commissions worldwide to benefit from their expertise in developing the accounting and audit profession in a way that reflects what the organization enjoys of good reputation at the federation that has more than 160 professional commissions as members from 118 countries.
