Two Holy Mosques chief meets Pakistani, Afghan ministers

MAKKAH: The head of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques received Pakistani and Afghan ministers in Makkah on Friday. Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sudais met Sheikh Dr. Noor Al-Haq Qadri, Pakistan’s minister of religious affairs and interfaith harmony, and Sheikh Mohammed Qasim Halimi, Afghanistan’s minister of Hajj, endowments and guidance. The meeting was attended by Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Hamid, who is imam and orator at the Grand Mosque. Al-Sudais offered his congratulations for the positive outputs from Thursday’s Afghan peace conference that was held in Makkah under the auspices of the Muslim World League. Senior Pakistani and Afghan scholars at the conference signed a declaration seeking a final and comprehensive solution to the conflict by supporting the reconciliation process between warring parties and reaching common ground by tackling political, social, economic and other issues.
