LONDON: Iranian websites for Press TV and Al-Alam TV along with the Yemen Houthi"s outlet Al-Masirah show message saying they have been seized by the US government. It is unclear whether the notice was a cyber attack or action taken by the US. The message said the sites had been "seized by the United States Government ... as part of a law enforcement action by the Bureau of Industry and Security, Office of Export Enforcement and Federal Bureau of Investigation." Iran"s IRNA news agency said the US had seied the websites. Press TV, launched in 2007, is the international English-language broadcast service of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), Tehran’s state media agency. Also owned by IRIB, Al-Alam is an Arabic news channel that was launched in 2003 and has news bureaus in Tehran, Beirut and Baghdad. Meanwhile, Al-Masirah is a Yemeni TV channel which was founded and is owned by the Ansarullah movement, a branch of the Houthi militia. The TV channel is headquartered in Beirut, Lebanon.
