DUBAI: Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea International Film Festival announced on Wednesday that it appointed Mohammed Al-Turki as Chairman of the Festival Committee ahead of the next edition in December 2021. For the latest updates, follow us on Instagram @arabnews.lifestyle Al-Turki is a renowned producer from the Kingdom who carved a career that spans over 10 years in both Hollywood and the Arab world. The filmmaker said in a released statement: “I’m honored to be joining the Red Sea International Film Festival to support this exciting new festival and bring people together through the universal language of film. “It’s wonderful time to witness the cultural shift in Saudi (Arabia) with extraordinary plans underway for vision 2030,” he added. The festival is the perfect opportunity to develop our flourishing industry, champion and support young Saudi and Arab talent, and share authentic compelling stories with global audiences.” Al-Turki is currently at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival. He shared a picture of himself on Instagram and wrote: “Happy to be at my favorite festival at the Cote D’azure representing my country. Cinema is back and alive.”
