Al-Hilal will hold a training camp in Austria July 12-Aug. 2 Al-Hilal’s new Portuguese coach Leonardo Jardim on Tuesday stepped up preseason training as part of the Saudi champions’ preparations for the 2021-2022 season and welcomed for the first time Malian striker Moussa Marega to the squad. Marega had arrived in Riyadh only a few days earlier, after his move from Porto, and will now be part of the 17-time Saudi league champions’ training camp in Austria, for which the squad will depart on July 12. During Tuesday’s training session, Jardim ran the players through some technical exercises in addition to continuing with the physical strengthening program before concluding the day’s work with a warm-down run around the training pitch. On Wednesday, the players will complete their medical examinations at the club’s headquarters before heading off to an evening training session. Once in Austria, Al-Hilal is scheduled to play five friendly matches against local teams before heading back to Riyadh on Aug. 2 to finalize preparations for the new season. Last season, Al-Hilal won a record-extending 17th Saudi title and recently advanced to the knockout stages of the 2021 Asian Football Confederation Champions League.
