Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Supreme Hajj Committee, said that this year’s exceptional Hajj season was a model for developing the Hajj journey using modern technologies and advanced methods, to move towards the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. On the security situation, the Interior Minister said the season did not witness any incidents that disturbed the safety of the pilgrims, adding that no Covid-19 infections were registered. In a cable to King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Minister said: “By God’s grace, all (security, health, preventive, organizational and service) plans were drawn up - taking lessons learned from the exceptional Hajj season of last year 1441 AH - and implemented in an integrated and highly professional manner by the security men, in partnership with the employees of other government and private agencies, according to a precise mechanism […], taking advantage of advanced technologies, and in a manner that ensures the application of all preventive and precautionary measures to confront the pandemic.” He added: “This year’s pilgrimage, thank God, did not witness anything that disturbed the peace of pilgrims, and no epidemic or quarantine cases were recorded.” In his cable to the Crown Prince, the Minister of Interior said: “This year’s exceptional Hajj season was a model for developing the Hajj journey using modern technologies and advanced methods, to make steady progress towards achieving the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 under the leadership of Your Highness.”
