TOKYO — Saudi swimmer Yousif Bu Arish ranked 55th in the men’s 100m butterfly race at the Tokyo Olympics after covering the distance with a time of 56.29 seconds, breaking his personal record in the race. Bu Arish could have achieved a better record than the one he set if he maintained the speed that he had in the first half of the race in the second half too. He crossed half the race distance with a time of 25.89 seconds, but his speed declined in the second half of the race by recording 30.40 seconds. Bu Arish was five seconds behind the American gold medalist Dressel Caeleb and four seconds from the Egyptian Arab Champion Youssef Ramadan, who came in 14th place with a time of 51.67 seconds, and two seconds away from the Kuwaiti Gulf champion Abbas Qali, who ranked 48 with a time of 53.62 seconds.
