Saudi Arabia reports 1,075 new COVID-19 cases, 1,113 recoveries

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia on Tuesday recorded 1,075 new COVID-19 cases and 11 deaths due to complications caused by the virus over the past 24 hours. This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 528,952 and the virus-related fatalities to 8,270. According to the ministry, a total of 1,113 people recovered over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 510,104. The Makkah region reported the highest number of new cases with 209, followed by the Eastern region with 188, the Riyadh region with 184, and the Jazan region with 107 infections. The remaining cases were detected in other regions of the Kingdom with none of them reporting less than 10 infections. According to the ministry, there were 10,575 active cases and 1,433 of them were in critical condition. The health ministry also announced on Tuesday that more than 28 million doses of the coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine have so far been administered through more than 587 designated vaccine centers across the Kingdom.
