Indonesia's Q2 GDP expands 7.07% y/y, beating forecast

JAKARTA, Aug 5 (Reuters) - Indonesia’s economy grew 7.07% in the April-June quarter compared with a year earlier, beating market estimates and marking its first expansion in five quarters, statistics bureau data showed on Thursday. The second-quarter growth rate was also the highest in more than a decade. A Reuters poll of analysts had expected growth of 6.57%. The bureau revised the first quarter’s contraction to 0.71%. On a quarterly, non-seasonally adjusted basis, Southeast Asia’s largest economy grew 3.31%, compared with a revised 0.92% drop in January-March. Analysts had expected 2.94%.
