Macron expressed France"s appreciation for the UAE’s support in evacuating foreign citizens from Afghanistan The two officials met for a working lunch at the historic Fontainebleau Chateau outside Paris DUBAI: Abu Dhabi’s crown prince and France’s president met in Paris on Wednesday and discussed regional and international developments. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and Emmanuel Macron also discussed their “shared interest in deepening the strong and longstanding strategic ties between the UAE and France.” The two officials met for a working lunch at the historic Fontainebleau Chateau outside Paris, where the UAE has played a key role in restoration works. The effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and the current situation in Afghanistan were also discussed during the meeting, Emirates News Agency reported. Macron expressed France"s appreciation to Sheikh Mohamed for the UAE’s support in evacuating foreign citizens from Afghanistan. They also affirmed the importance of achieving security, peace and stability in the region through diplomatic means and constructive dialogue.
