ZURICH, Sept 21 (Reuters) - Swiss National Bank (SNB) Chairman Thomas Jordan will take part in the central bank’s monetary policy decision on Thursday, the SNB said on Tuesday, after he recovered from a health scare. Jordan, who has been chairman of the SNB since 2012, was hospitalised last month for a heart operation.“Yes, he is back and will lead the monetary policy assessment,” an SNB spokesperson told Reuters. The 58-year-old will also speak with the media after the SNB’s meeting, where the bank is expected to keep its ultra-expansive policy on hold. The SNB is expected to look past a mild near-term rise in inflation as well as a slightly weaker Swiss franc and stick firmly to its policy of negative interest rates and currency market interventions, according to a Reuters poll of economists. All 36 economists in the Sept. 14-20 poll expected the Swiss central bank to keep its policy rate locked at minus 0.75% - the lowest in the world. (Reporting by John Revill Editing by Mark Potter)
