The Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development’s decision to localize jobs and professions in the real estate and cinema sectors came into effect on Friday. The ministry aims to provide new stimulating and productive job opportunities for male and female citizens across the Kingdom, in an attempt to raise the level of their participation in the labor market in accordance with the objectives of the Vision 2030. The decision to localize real estate activities and professions included limiting work to Saudis at 100 percent for workers in real estate brokerage and sustainable construction, as well as real estate control professions. It also includes localizing 70 percent of the total number of workers in public facilities in real estate activities at owned or leased properties and other subsidiary activities. The first phase of the decision limits the work to Saudis only in cinema sales. It allowed foreign workers in some technical and maintenance specialties, provided that the number of expatriate workers does not exceed 15 percent of the total number of workers in the facility.
