FRANKFURT, Oct 7 (Reuters) - Euro zone inflation could stay high next year, even if price pressures are still likely to subside over time, European Central Bank board member Isabel Schnabel said on Thursday. “It would be premature to assert that current price dynamics will fully subside next year,” Schnabel said. “There are various sources of uncertainty that might entail more persistent inflationary pressures. “It is also possible that the pandemic has altered or reinforced structural trends, thus affecting inflation dynamics in the years to come,” she added. Inflation hit 3.4% last month and could still reach 4% this year on rising energy prices and supply chain bottlenecks.
