Young Falcons will meet Iraq in the final four on Sunday, while Jordan take on Syria Saudi Arabia defeated Bahrain 3-0 on Friday night to reach the semifinals of the U23 West Asian Championship being held in Dammam. The win saw the host nation finish top of Group C with a maximum six points ahead of Syria in second place and Bahrain in third. Meanwhile, Palestine beat the UAE 1-0 to finish in second place in Group B behind Iraq, who drew 2-2 with Lebanon. Saudi and Iraq will now meet in the last four on Sunday. Group A winners Jordan, who had beaten Yemen 2-1 on Thursday, will contest the other semifinal against Syria, who claimed their spot in the last four as the best of second-placed nations. Oman and Kuwait drew 1-1 in the day’s other match. The 11-team tournament, organized by the West Asian Football Federation, runs until Oct. 12.
