RIYADH: The Arab Coalition fighting the Houthi militants in Yemen has destroyed two explosive-laden boats used by the Iran-aligned group in the south of the Red Sea, Saudi state TV said on Wednesday. The coalition added that during Wednesdays operations, 12 Houthi military vehicles were destroyed and more than 108 of its fighters killed, adding its commitment to “supporting the Yemeni national army and protecting civilians.” Also on Wednesday, the ambassador of Japan to the Kingdom, Fumio Iwai, condemned the attack carried out by the Houthis with two booby-trapped drones on King Abdullah Airport in Jazan, which resulted in injuries among civilians, passengers and airport employees. The Embassy of Japan said in a tweet posted on its official account on Twitter: “The Japanese ambassador to the Kingdom strongly condemns the terrorist attacks on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on October 8, and the attempt to target King Abdullah Airport in Jazan, which resulted in the injury of a number of innocent civilians. He wishes them a speedy recovery.”
