SINGAPORE, Oct 25 (Reuters) - Singapore plans to import up to four gigawatts (GW) of electricity by 2035, the country’s trade and industry minister Gan Kim Yong said on Monday. The imports will constitute around 30% of the country’s electricity supply, said the minister in a speech to the Singapore International Energy Week. Singapore will start trials to iron out technical and regulatory issues associated with cross border power trading, he said, adding that these include the import of 100 megawatts (MW) of electricity from Malaysia and a pilot to import 100MW of solar-generated electricity from Pulau Bulan in Indonesia.
