The Hurricanes are 6-0-0, extending their winning streak one game longer than the club mark that was previously set at the beginning of the 2019-20 season. Andersen is the seventh goalie in NHL history to win his team"s first six games in a season, and he is the second to do so in his first season with a new team. Tony DeAngelo, Nino Niederreiter and Andrei Svechnikov scored goals for Carolina, which is midway through a four-game homestand. Svechnikov"s tally went into an empty net. Boston lost for the second night in a row to an undefeated team after falling 4-1 at Florida at the start of a two-game road swing.
