US President Joe Biden is set to reaffirm his country"s commitment to tackling climate change at the COP26 conference in Glasgow by doubling down on plans to get a $555 billion environmental warchest signed off by Congress. Biden said on Sunday that his Build Back Better climate and social spending bill will be voted on sometime this week, "God willing," reported Reuters. The White House"s National Climate Adviser Gina McCarthy was reported by the news agency as takling up the Presiden"t green credentials, saying: "Here in Glasgow, he"s renewing the United States’ commitment to take swift and decisive action, including through his Build Back Better framework. "It"s the largest investment to combat the climate crisis in American history. And it"s going to let us reduce emissions well over a gigaton — that"s 1 billion metric tons — in 2030."
