LUSAKA, Nov 3 (Reuters) - Zambia will resume talks for a lending programme with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Thursday, the ministry of finance said in a statement on Wednesday. “The aim of the discussions with the IMF is to achieve a staff level agreement that outlines an agreed policy reform package and a related medium-term macro-fiscal framework that, together with a debt restructuring package, would restore fiscal and debt sustainability, boost inclusive growth, and strengthen economic governance,” the ministry said. Zambia’s Finance Minister Situmbeko Musokotwane said on Tuesday that the country hoped to secure an IMF support agreement by the end of November.
