Nearly 22 million people in Saudi Arabia have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19

RIYADH: 21.7 million people in the Kingdom have been double-jabbed against the coronavirus, the health ministry’s spokesman said on Sunday. Speaking at the weekly COVID-19 press conference, Dr. Mohammed Al-Abd Al-Aly said that over 46.2 million doses of a COVID-19 vaccine had been administered in the Kingdom so far. Booster doses are safe according to studies that prove this and are available to everyone, the spokesman said. Meanwhile, the Kingdom announced one death from COVID-19 and 40 new infections on Sunday. Of the new cases, 13 were recorded in Riyadh, seven in Jeddah, four in Madinah, and three in Makkah. Several other cities recorded one new case each. The total number of recoveries in the Kingdom increased to 537,858 after 64 more patients recovered from the virus. A total of 8,804 people have succumbed to the virus in the Kingdom so far.
