France’s Ambassador Ludovic Pouille has stressed that AlUla Governorate will become one of the top international tourist destinations for enjoying breathtaking natural components and diversified history and antiquities dating back to thousands of years, and will have a bright future for it being an attractive environment for all. He also expressed admiration of what he saw during his third visit to AlUla this year, referring to its stunning nature and the accelerating developments in AlUla under the ambitious Saudi Vision 2030. In remarks to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the ambassador referred to the French partnerships in Saudi Arabia, especially with the Royal Commission for AlUla, saying: "We work together to explore this magnificent place of old history with the aim of supporting development in the governorate in all fields. “We have worked on ancient monuments in addition to the infrastructure that was signed recently during the Future Investment Initiative in Riyadh between the Royal Commission for AlUla and French companies Egis, Assystem, Setec, which includes developing the infrastructure of water, electricity and energy. “This is in addition to an agreement signed between the commission and Thales Company with the aim of transferring AlUla into a smart area in terms of security and administrating tourist groups, with the participation of specialists with international expertise. The ambassador noted that they also have signed cooperation deal in the field of agriculture and environment through several experts with innovative techniques and methods to face climate change and trying to reach innovative solutions in treating water and irrigation usages. This is in addition to enhancing agricultural productivity without harming the environment or the archaeological resources, and renewing soil and plants to be able to boost sustainable and organic agriculture, especially those indigenous species, such as Moringa that is well known for its oil, as major beauty companies compete to receive it, in addition to other citruses like lemon and orange, as well as dates. He also stressed that what the Saudis and French are doing here will be useful for AlUla, the region and the entire world for it being a strategic global partnership between Saudi Arabia and France, voicing his pride in being an ambassador of his country to be able to support this partnership. Ambassador Pouille said: “We are here under the most beautiful sky that is full of stars, so the sky is the limit between France and Saudi Arabia and the ceiling of our ambitions inside AlUla and abroad. We can exert more efforts over the coming years in all fields to attract French experts and companies to participate in this ambitious project for the Saudi Vision 2030.” — SPA
