Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett will travel on Sunday for the first official visit to the United Arab Emirates, his office said. The visit comes after the two countries normalized their ties last year, and marks the first official visit by an Israeli prime minister to the UAE. The prime minister will fly to the Gulf country in the afternoon, at the invitation of the crown prince of Abu Dhabi, Bennett"s office said in a statement. "The leaders will discuss deepening ties between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, with an emphasis on economic and regional issues that will contribute to prosperity, welfare and strengthening stability between the countries," the statement read. In late June, Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid flew to the UAE, in the first visit by a senior Israeli official, to open the first Israeli embassy in the Gulf state.
