TASI gains 90 points amid market volatility: Closing bell

RIYADH: Saudi stocks sustained minor gains, with the main index TASI rising 0.81 percent to 11,261 points at closing bell, having fluctuated between gains and losses during trading today. The parallel market Nomu dropped 0.81 percent to 27,156 points. Arabian Centres Co., also known as Almrakez, was the session’s biggest gainer, up over 9 percent to SR24 ($6.39). Among the Kingdom’s biggest players, AlRajhi Bank and Saudi Basic Industries Corporation surged to SR141.8 and SR116, respectively. Shares in Aramco rose to SR35.45, with more than 4 million shares changing hands intraday. Arab Sea Information System Co. hit an all-time high of SR194, up from SR191 in the previous session. Etihad Atheeb Telecommunications Co. topped the market fallers list, declining 3.64 percent. This followed its board"s recommendation to increase capital through a SR350 million rights issue. Baazeem Trading, Alahli Takaful, and Almunajem Foods came next, all down approximately 2 percent. Almunajem Foods closed at SR62.1, giving up its market debut-generated gains from the prior session.
