Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi, Advisor to the Governor of Makkah Region and Acting Governor of Jeddah, has honored winners in the 1st edition Taazeez Award for Voluntary Work for the best voluntary initiative. The awards were distributed at a function organized in Jeddah by Al-Faisalya Women Welfare Society on Tuesday. Prince Saud referred to voluntary initiatives that enhance loyalty for the homeland, shed light on the culture of voluntary work, and highlighted volunteers’ efforts and display their creative ideas to inspire others, as well as enhancing the concept of social responsibility and its role in empowering the voluntary work sector, stressing the importance of supporting voluntary works for their impacts in serving the society. For her part, President of the Al-Faisalya Women Welfare Society Kheiriyah Mohammed Nour Rahimi said that the society sought to launch several voluntary initiatives as part of its strategic plan over 2021-2024, including the Taazeez Award, with the aim of focusing on voluntary work and contributing to enhancing the vision of increasing the contribution of the non-profit sector to the GDP to 5%. Taazeez Award includes three categories: individual volunteers, voluntary teams and social responsibility programs, which all accord with Saudi Vision 2030 in reaching one million volunteers. — SPA
