The Netherlands has sentenced a 41-year-old man to four years in prison convicted of attempted murder after shooting Saudi Arabia"s embassy in The Hague last year. The judges disagreed with the plaintiffs about the reasons for his shooting, where group of plaintiffs said that he had a terrorist motive to attack the embassy.plaintiffs" statements came about the defendant"s intention that he had a terrorist attack motive, as he sought went to the embassy more than once to try to obtain a visa to perform the Hajj, while the embassy refused to grant him a visa that would allow him to travel to Makkah. Meanwhile, the court was not convinced by the plaintiff"s claim and said that the man was guilty of attempting murder as he knew the building was guarded during the embassy"s closing hours. The judges in the court also noted that the accused had previously defaced the embassy"s wall, adding that he is suffering from a mental disorder and that he will receive treatment for his psychological problems while in prison.
