The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development denied reports that appeared in a section of the local media that the ministry will no longer approve any paper work contract, starting from Saturday, Jan 1. Saad Al-Hammad, spokesman of the ministry, said in a statement on Twitter account, that there is also no truth in reports that labor contracts that are not registered or documented digitally via the ministry’s platforms are not be acceptable in labor courts. “We make it clear that this is not true, as the Labor Contract Documentation Program is an initiative to enhance the protection of labor rights in accordance with the mechanism announced by the ministry through its official channels. We also call on everyone to ensure accuracy while disseminating information,” Al-Hammad said while urging everybody to rely on correct information that is available from the official sources. Earlier, there were reports that unified e-contract should be made and registered via the ministry’s qiwa platform, in line with the Saudi Labor Law to benefit from the ministry’s Labor Reform Initiative (LRI).
