Mining sector stakeholders explore huge investment opportunities in Kingdom

All stakeholders in mining in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – including 12 government agencies – will participate in the Future Mineral Forum held in Riyadh from Jan. 11-13, 2022 to present investment opportunities with a unique journey to explore in the Saudi mining sector and those of its neighbors in the region. The 12 government agencies represented at the Forum include The Ministry of Investment, which considers the Future Minerals Forum as a new national anchor to achieve the leadership’s aspirations in exploring investment opportunities and developing and diversifying the economy under the umbrella of Saudi Vision 2030 and in line with the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP). Meanwhile, the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has affirmed its commitment to environmental sustainability and to achieving prosperity in the development sectors which are the pillars of its work that it seeks to achieve with its partners in the NIDLP in line with Saudi Vision 2030. The Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu is looking forward to enhancing the sector"s capabilities, encouraging investment, and highlighting the most prominent potentials of opportunities in the Kingdom, reinforced by cooperation through the NIDLP and Saudi Vision 2030. The Saudi Export Development Authority is exploring opportunities to increase the Kingdom"s exports in global markets, which will be enhanced by the Authority’s presence at the Future Minerals Forum, which is the most prominent common area in the NIDLP to achieve sustainable growth. The Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones is also participating in the Forum, to boost the mining sector in the national economy, which reflects the opportunities that Saudi lands have, while enhancing the role of the NIDLP system. The Industrial Development Fund believes that the Forum can enhance support for the Kingdom’s industrial sector. The Saudi Export and Import Bank is participating in the Forum to highlight the attractiveness of investment in the Kingdom, in light of the integration and coordination among sectors. The Local Content and Government Procurement Authority will also participate in the Future Minerals Forum to build a strong and sustainable economy, showcase the power of knowledge localization and open up greater horizons for the country. The Geological Survey Authority will participate in the Forum to highlight its leading role in providing geological data to investors pertaining to the detailed location of mineral resources in the Kingdom. The National Center for Industrial Development will explore the ambitious vision of the Kingdom that will be promoted by the Forum and will highlight the qualitative opportunities and competitive advantages of investing in the Kingdom’s mining sector and sustainable investment opportunities. The National Industrial Development and Logistics Program is participating in the Future Minerals Forum to highlight the program"s key role in optimizing the use of resources and creating attractiveness for local and foreign investment. NIDLP has launched a platform that aims to provide all the information needed by an investor in one place. The “Daleel” digital platform is part of NIDLP and is one of the programs to achieve the Saudi Vision 2030. It seeks to enhance communication with the private sector through a unified window that provides data related to the roles and services of the executive authorities; the available potentials; the details of the beneficiaries’ journey; the competitive advantages of the Kingdom; and the industrial, energy, mining and logistics sectors. The "Daleel" platform aims to provide the beneficiaries with everything they need within the framework of a smooth experience, and an integrated user-friendly interface that includes providing all the updated information that the local and international investor may need on their investment journey in relevant sectors. Through this Forum, the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources seeks to spotlight the mining sector in the Kingdom, the opportunities it holds, and all that promotes the development of the sector globally. The first-ever Future Minerals Forum provides an opportunity to discuss the development of modern, responsible mining in a new and emerging mining hub. The Forum will also provide attendees with an in-depth look at existing legal frameworks, access to land, the role of governments, ease of doing business, investment opportunities and introduce potential projects and opportunities in a vast region which contains enormous untapped resources and vital minerals that can contribute to a growing and prosperous global economy. The Forum’s exhibition component will focus on presenting technologies that will contribute to the establishment of a future mining sector encompassing the Middle East, Central Asia, and North and East Africa, in which Saudi Arabia will play a fundamental role in the coming years. The exhibition will also include pavilions dedicated to a number of countries in the region. The Forum and the exhibition will enhance Saudi Arabia"s strategic leadership and its essential role, as well as contribute to the presentation of advanced technologies and innovations, and facilitate the establishment of new partnerships and knowledge exchange channels. — SG
