Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Eng. Abdulrahman Al-Fadley reiterated on Thursday Saudi Arabia’s commitment to achieve a sustainable economy, as part of the Saudi Vision 2030. “The National Environment Strategy aimed to strengthen the institutional framework of environmental protection system and update environmental systems to enhance environmental commitment, develop wildlife and vegetation, reduce desertification and protect terrestrial, marine environments.” Al-Fadley reiterated that achieving the national goals on protecting the environment can only come through active participation of all elements of society, including government agencies, private sector, voluntary associations, and individuals. Al-Fadley added that preserving the environment, reducing pollution, and protecting terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems are pillars for the sustainability of the national and global economy.
