Al-Zamil noted that the number of factories operating in the plastics industry in Saudi Arabia has reached more than 1,321, with investments estimated at more than 35 billion riyals ($9.3 billion). They constitute 2.62 percent of the total volume of investments in the Kingdom’s industrial sector, he said during his inauguration of the International Polymer Forum and the Plastics Manufacturers Exhibition 2022, which kicked off at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center on Saturday, in the presence of a number of experts and specialists, and a selection of companies specialized in this industry. In his speech, the deputy minister underlined the importance of the forum in enhancing Saudi Arabia’s industrial status at the local and global levels, encouraging the industrial thought in the sectors specialized in the manufacture of plastics and rubber materials and the associated manufacturing industries, as well as improving the competitiveness of the national products.
