Makkah governor launches public transport project in Taif

— Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Governor of Makkah region inaugurated the public transport project in Taif Governorate on Tuesday, in the presence of the Chairman of Public Transport Authority Rumaih Al-Rumaih. The public transport project in Taif Governorate consists of nine lanes, 58 buses, and 182 stopping points, servicing beneficiaries for 18 hours a day. The project is aimed to provide multiple transportation options, contribute to raising the level of safety and quality of life, facilitate the movement within cities, reduce traffic congestion, create job opportunities, lower carbon emissions and environmental pollution. During the meeting, Prince Khaled reviewed the future plan for developing the public transport services, which includes equipping them with modern technology, expanding network lanes, as well as increasing and developing stopping points and developing dedicated lanes for express buses.
