Abdul Majeed Abdullah returns to stage after 5 years with record show

After a 5 years hiatus, ‘the Prince of Tarab,’ singer Abdul Majeed Abdullah, returned to stage at the Mohammed Abdu Theater in the Riyadh City Boulevard, as part of the activities of the Riyadh Season 2. The artist Abdul Majeed Abdullah expressed his overwhelming happiness before ascending the stage and said: “I am overjoyed with the change that is happening in our country.” Abdul Majeed presented his most popular songs and excelled in conveying his feelings to the attendance. In return, the audience praised his voice and rendition and respect for his fans and his friendly interactions with them. The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) Turki Al-Sheikh announced that the sponsorship of the concert of Abdul Majeed broke records as the highest to date by an Arab artist in the Middle East, stressing that it will be recorded in Saudi art history. Al-Sheikh praised the work done by the singer, band, and staff at Abdul Majeed’s Night concert. He also revealed that there have been many attempts of the singer to return to the stage again since 2019 and, only in 2022 he was able to return. The chairman elaborated: “I have always wanted to organize a huge concert featuring all three of the artists — Abdul-Majeed Abdullah, Rashid Al-Majed and Majed Al-Muhandis — in the presence of at least 300,000 audience but the health condition that Abdul-Majeed was going through did not allow him to do so.” It is worth mentioning that the singer Abdul Majeed broke records as the fastest selling artist as his entire concert tickets were sold within two hours of its release. And due to the great demand from the audience to attend the musical evening, the organizing committee announced another concert that took place Saturday, and the tickets were completely sold out within five hours.
