TASI trades lower as oil prices dip: Opening bell

Shares in oil giant Aramco edged down by 0.27 percent RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s main stock index opened lower on Thursday following a decline in the energy sector. As of 10:30 a.m. Saudi time, the main index – TASI – edged lower by 0.16 percent to reach 12,186, while the parallel market Nomu was up by 0.36 percent to reach 25,423. In the energy market, Brent crude settled at $91 per barrel, while US WTI crude traded at $89 per barrel. Shares in oil giant Aramco edged down by 0.27 percent. In the financial sector, Saudi Arabia"s largest bank, Al Rajhi Bank, climbed 0.14 percent, while Bank Aljazira rose 2.18 percent. Methanol Chemicals Co. gained 0.88 percent as the company announced improved financial positions. Tihama Advertising and Public Relations Co. edged up 4.05 percent despite reporting its net losses shrinking by 18 percent in the last nine months of 2021.
