RIYADH: Egypt’s unemployment rate fell to 7.4 percent of the labor force in the fourth quarter of last year, edging down by 0.1 percent compared to the previous three months. Some 29.7 million people were in work in the final quarter of 2021, up by 0.9 percent, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics. The number of unemployed is estimated at 2.2 million people — 7.4 percent of the total labor force, the country’s statistics agency reported.
