Ambassadors from Central Asia and Azerbaijan have stressed their countries’ keenness to hold economic, investment and trade partnerships with Saudi Arabia. The ambassadors called for activating relations between business sectors to take advantage of promising investment opportunities in their countries, especially in energy, mining, agriculture, industry, and tourism. They highlighted many advantages and incentives approved by their governments to encourage foreign investments. Their remarks came during the Forum of the Ambassadors of Central Asian Countries and the Republic of Azerbaijan, which was organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Riyadh on Tuesday. The ambassadors said the Forum represents an important steppingstone to consolidating commercial cooperation relations with Saudi Arabia and increasing its rates to better levels. They also referred to what the Saudi Fund for Development and the Islamic Development Bank provide for many development projects in their countries. Chairman of the Council of Saudi Chambers of Commerce and Industry Ajlan Al Ajlan clarified that the Forum was designed to reinforce economic, trade and investment ties between the Saudi business sector and its counterpart in Central Asia and Azerbaijan. “Despite the good level of commercial cooperation between the Kingdom and the countries of Central Asia during the last period, we aspire to make leaps at the level of trade and economic cooperation to make full use of the available investment opportunities,” said Ajlan. The ambassadors of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Azerbaijan participated in the Forum, where they presented a review of investment opportunities in their countries and the advantages offered by their governments to attract foreign investments. Representatives of the Saudi Fund for Development and the Islamic Development Bank presented the volume of economic and development projects offered by their institutions in these countries, which amount to billions of dollars, revealing the tendency to increase the establishment of partnerships to promote sustainable development in the next stage.
