— The Ministry of Health (MoH) indicated that individuals could get infected with the seasonal flu and COVID-19 at the same time. The Ministry of Health spokesman Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdel Ali stressed at a press conference here on Sunday, that no clear traces have appeared yet of infection with the two viruses. He pointed out that Saudi Arabia is keeping pace with the positive development to confront the pandemic, especially that the curve of cases indicating a distinctive decrease, and cases are expected to continue to decline further. He noted that the large numbers of critical cases are those who did not receive vaccinations or did not complete immunization. “The number of doses given in the Kingdom exceeded 60 million, the number of vaccinated people with two doses exceeded 24 million, and those who received the booster dose are more than 10 million,” he said. Regarding the time range of the booster doses, Dr. Al-Abdel Ali said that there are no studies to determine the time range of the booster doses yet. He stressed that the booster doses were introduced based on global and local studies of experts and specialists, and the main goal of it is to raise the level of protection against severe disease.
