Saudi Aramco keen on utilizing AI at all its facilities: Al-Rumayyan

RIYADH — Chairman of the Board of Directors of Saudi Aramco Yasir Al-Rumayyan has said that Saudi Aramco is interested in using artificial intelligence at its facilities, including research centers related to projects that can reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Speaking during the 2022 International Petroleum Technology Conference (IPTC) on Sunday, he said Aramco is also working on developing technology related to reducing carbon emissions, and is interested in nanotechnology, which plays an important role in reducing costs. Al-Rumayyan noted that Aramco has long-term investment plans and looks forward to having new uses of oil and gas through many resources, and through the reserves that it owns with the aim of being the leader in terms of hydrocarbon economy. He said the world learned from the impact of the coronavirus pandemic the lessons of perseverance and steadfastness. The world is currently witnessing the stage of recovery from the pandemic, he said, praising the efforts made by Saudi Aramco in reducing carbon emissions and working toward achieving zero emissions. He praised the efforts of employees who have come up with several innovations in many areas, including technology, making it a factory of ideas. “The International Petroleum Technology Conference will discuss many innovative ideas related to petroleum industries and will also discuss new technologies and ideas with the aim of having zero emissions,” Al-Rumayyan said. He stressed the importance of establishing an industry based on solving problems and providing solutions that the world needs.
