The General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) in cooperation with the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) has introduced a new feature that helps people to verify the identity of the census researcher through his own digital wallet in the Tawakkalna application. The authority indicated that the citizen and resident will have the right to see the identification card of the field researcher, in order to raise the level of transparency and reliability and to enhance the families" reassurance. The service will also ensure the facilitation of field work during the visit of the field researcher during the stage of updating the housing units addresses for the Saudi Census 2022, which is currently taking place. This is in addition to the actual counting stage that will start on Shawwal 8, 1443 AH corresponding to May 9, 2022. GASTAT said that its cooperation with SDAIA comes to enhance integration between government agencies, as well as to enhance the efforts that the Kingdom is going through towards enabling digital transformation. It is noteworthy that GASTAT announced earlier that it was preparing to launch the "Saudi Census 2022" program, which is an essential pillar of Saudi Arabia"s Vision 2030. Saudi Census 2022 is the fifth census in the Kingdom"s history. The last general census in the Kingdom was conducted in 2010, when the population stood at 27,136,977 people.
