The Ministry of Education has issued directives to school authorities across the Kingdom not to allow unvaccinated boy and girl students to sit for the end of the second semester examinations. According to a ministry circular, a copy of which was obtained by Okaz/Saudi Gazette, the schools have been asked to treat unvaccinated students as “absentees” and prevent them from entering schools. The ministry emphasized that no exams would be held remotely at the end of the second semester for any students. “The examination for all boy and girl students who are not immunized against coronavirus will be held in accordance with the mechanism being followed in conducting exams for absentees. “Exams will be held for them in the beginning of the third semester if their excuses for absence are accepted,” it was pointed out in the circular. Meanwhile, the Education Department in Taif, in coordination with the Health Affairs Department, has expedited the vaccination drive for boy and girl students without an appointment at the Taif University Vaccination Center in Al-Hawiyah on a daily basis from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. This is part of the department’s efforts to ensure that they completed receiving the doses of the coronavirus vaccine before the commencement of the examinations.
