RIYADH: Saudi Shoura Council Speaker Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Asheikh on Friday chaired the Kingdom’s delegation and participated in the Parliamentary Dialogue Forum of Latin American and Caribbean Senates. The gathering was held within the framework of the 11th Association of Senates, Shoura, and Equivalent Councils in Africa and the Arab World Conference and staged in the Moroccan capital Rabat. The forum aims to strengthen the role of senates in consolidating economic diplomacy and developing parliamentary dialogue on issues of common interest, as well as sharing experiences and expertise, and strengthening cooperation programs. It also looks to generate ideas and suggest legislative measures and recommendations to the African, Arab, and Latin American summit of leaders of states, institutions, agencies, and governmental conferences on a range of issues, while helping to forge stronger links between countries. Key topics covered at the association’s 11th conference focused on economic and social development, and global challenges related to the coronavirus pandemic.
