Saudi Arabia’s Embassy in Ukraine confirmed that it is intensively working on a plan to evacuate the remaining Saudi citizens from Ukraine, which is under the guidance and follow-up of Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal Bin Farhan. In a statement on its Twitter account, the embassy said that it had evacuated more than 100 Saudi citizens on board various flights. It also evacuated many citizens via safe land routes to the neighboring countries of Ukraine. “Work is under way to evacuate the remaining stranded citizens, and that the embassy is in constant contact and coordination with the Ukrainian side to find out the safe corridors through which citizens can cross from conflict areas to neighboring countries. The Kingdom’s missions in those countries are coordinating with the concerned authorities to facilitate their entry to that countries and their departure to the Kingdom from there as soon as possible,” it said. The embassy said in the statement that it is closely following the case of a Saudi citizen who was detained by the Ukrainian authorities in connection with a security case. “The embassy is in constant communication and coordination with the competent Ukrainian authorities to find the best ways to ensure the safety of the citizen,” the statement added.
