Arab Parliament Speaker Adel Bin Abdulrahman Al-Assomi has called on the 144th Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly to support and adopt Saudi Arabia’s Middle East Green Initiative. He stressed that it represents a role model for efforts to address the climate change crisis at the regional level. In a speech he delivered at the 144th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Bali, Indonesia, to discuss the "climate change crisis", Al-Asoumi pointed out that Arab countries have made great efforts and launched pioneering initiatives to confront the climate change crisis. He added that Egypt"s hosting of the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 27) to the UNFCCC on Climate Change this year, and the UAE in 2023, reflects the pioneering efforts made by Arab countries to address this crisis. — SPA
