The Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Eng. Ahmed Bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi met here Monday with the Executive Director of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Catherine Russell, accompanied by the UNICEF Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa Adele Khader, and the representative of UNICEF in the Arab Gulf States Al-Tayeb Adam. During the meeting, they discussed a number of issues of common interest. They also reviewed the efforts of the ministry and the services it provides in the field of social care for children, such as protection services from violence and abuse, and alternative care services, which include "nursery homes, social care homes, and friendly families". This is in addition to ways to support the development of the social protection system in the Kingdom. This meeting comes in the context of the ministry"s efforts and plans to build its complementary relations and strengthen its strategic partnerships with international organizations, and benefit from the best global practices and experiences in order to achieve the common goals of all parties. — SPA
