Al-Samir police in Jeddah arrested a man accused of committing an acid attack, killing his wife and seriously injuring her daughter from a previous marriage. The 911 operation center of the Jeddah police had received information about the acid attack against a woman and her daughter in their home in Al-Samir district in eastern Jeddah. When the security forces reached the scene, they found the woman and the girl suffering from serious burn injuries. They were soon transferred to King Fahd Hospital where the woman died and the girl in serious condition in the intensive care unit. The man fled the scene after committing the crime. The security forces soon launched a massive manhunt in which the man was arrested. The police sources said that the man had beaten his wife and poured acid on her and her child following a family dispute between them. The man married the woman 10 months ago, the police sources said.
